How to apply
Before submitting your application, you must select a project. Browse our projects, and email the CDT team if you're unsure or require guidance.
Our application process is hosted by our partner universities — each project advert will link you directly to the relevant university's postgraduate (PGR) application system.
When applying, please ensure you include the following:
- The full name of the project
- The named supervisor
- That you are applying for CDT funding
- Details of all previous university-level study
- Names and contact details of two academic referees ((please make sure that the contact email you provide is an official university/work email address as we may need to verify the reference).
Please note: Incomplete applications will not be considered. All supporting documents must be submitted at the time of application. The CDT cannot accept responsibility for missed deadlines or documents submitted late.
Upload the following with your application:
- Final transcripts and certificates of all awarded university-level qualifications
- Interim transcript of any qualifications still in progress
- CV
- Supporting statement (see guidance below)
- English language certificate (if applicable).
